Concrete Animals

These adorable concrete animals by 'Korridor Design', a Danish Design brand, made me stop in my 'concrete casting research mode' steps.
With minimalist solid forms, accentuated by softer wood tones, these little figures would make for a heart warming addition to any design lover's collection! See more here.

 Printmakers I

One of Japan's foremost contemporary printmaking artists, Fumio Fujita's art is a beautiful blend depicting landscape, particularly trees and abstract patterns. Patterns are inherent to the natural world and Nature then is perhaps the unifying thread in all of Fumio's varied work.

Fumio Fujita belongs to the ‘sōsaku-hanga’ school of printmaking : an art movement in early 20th cen Japan “that stressed the artist as the sole creator motivated by a desire for self-expression, and advocated principles of art that is ‘self-drawn’, ‘self-carved’ and ‘self-printed’ “ wikipedia

An absorbing blend of color and form characterise Fumio's printmaking - I was enchanted when I discovered his work.  See more here.

Spaces in Clay

Ceramicist Mudita Bhandari's work transports one into an alternate spatial reality,
one comprising imagined spaces.

'City of Dreams'

'Under the same sky'

"My work is an expression of how I perceive my existence in context to the ever changing world around. I am interested in exploring the interrelation between man and space where sometimes man associates with the limitless space within him and sometimes responds to the urban multilayered physical one around. The two forming parallel worls, coexisting and shifting in time..." Mudita Bhandari

'Connecting Doors'

'Living Walls'

Mudita's work is rooted in architecture. See more here.

Art + Paper

Artist Nibha Sikander uses paper to creat 3D insects, butterflies and birds. At a glance, it's hard to set her creations apart from the real.

One could be led to assuming that these minute details are possibly painted in.
Look closely and you'll discover that each pattern has been painstakingly crafted in paper!

A deep love for nature fuels Nibha's creativity. See more of her work here.
